Jaipur: A visually impaired student from a private school in Jaipur has been erroneously marked absent for the Physics paper in RBSE’s Class 12 board exam, despite appearing for the paper with assistance of a scribe. The issue surfaced Tuesday following the release of the exam results, in which the student scored over 90% in all subjects except for Physics. The student is now seeking resolution through the school’s coordinator with RBSE.“I was excited about my results on Tuesday but when my parents saw the marksheet, we were initially confused as to why AA was written against theory marks for Physics. I asked about it and learnt that it meant absent,” said Arpit Agarwal, the Class 12 student.“I sat for all my exams with a scribe and attempted the entire question paper. In all other subjects I have scored above 90 and even in Physics, marks from internals and practicals are mentioned in the marksheet,” he added.Hema Agarwal, his mother, said, “My son is completely blind, and he put in a lot of effort to score such high marks in the board exams. He studied in a regular school with other students and his teachers supported him to make sure that he feels no less. This error in the result is a bit demoralising because of the effort he put in.”TNN
