Actor Raqesh Bapat, currently seen on Bigg Boss Marathi 6, found himself at the centre of a major controversy after a nomination task turned personal, escalating into a heated confrontation with Vishal Kotian that crossed the boundaries of the game. What began as a verbal disagreement soon intensified into a physical altercation, with Raqesh’s family now openly criticising Vishal’s conduct and flagging serious concerns over violations of the show’s rules. What happened between Raqesh Bapat and Vishal Kotian
During the Monday (April 30) episode, Raqesh nominated Vishal Kotian, alleging that he had been making personal remarks against him inside the house. Vishal defended himself, claiming Raqesh had also commented on his age, but the situation escalated when he brought up Raqesh’s past, including his divorce from Riddhi Dogra, and threatened to expose him publicly.
The argument soon turned ugly, with Vishal allegedly pushing Raqesh during the confrontation. As physical aggression is against the rules, Vishal was punished by being nominated for the remainder of the season.
How Raqesh Bapat’s family react to the controversy
Reacting to the incident, Raqesh’s family shared a strong statement on Instagram, condemning Vishal’s conduct and his decision to drag personal matters into the game. They wrote, “Throughout his journey, Raqesh has conducted himself with dignity and restraint. He has never resorted to demeaning anyone on the basis of personal matters outside the house.”
Highlighting the rules of the show, the statement added, “As per the rules and legal contract of the Bigg Boss house, contestants are strictly prohibited from discussing or targeting personal matters from outside the house. Any such violation can lead to serious consequences, including removal from the show.”
Calling out Vishal’s repeated behaviour, the family further stated, “This is not the first time such a rule has been breached, but this instance has clearly crossed all acceptable boundaries and stands as a serious and unacceptable violation.”
‘We are deeply disturbed and disappointed’
They also expressed concern that while action was taken against the physical altercation, the larger issue remained ignored. “While minor action was taken for the physical aggression, the far more serious issue of dragging personal matters into the game, which is a legal violation, appears to have gone unaddressed.”
Sharing their disappointment, the family said, “As a family, we are deeply disturbed and disappointed. His fans are also hugely disappointed.”
They concluded by urging host Riteish Deshmukh and the makers to take stricter action, adding, “We urge the makers to set the right example and uphold the dignity of a show watched by millions of families across Maharashtra.”
Raqesh Bapat married Riddhi Dogra in 2011, and the two parted ways in 2019. Despite their divorce, they have maintained a cordial bond. He was later in a relationship with Shamita Shetty, the two fell in love during Bigg Boss OTT Season 1, but eventually went their separate ways in July 2022.
