Jaipur: With the term of the state’s Other Backward Classes commission ending on March 31, all eyes are on the state govt and on whether it decides to extend the present commission’s tenure, as work on reservation recommendations for OBCs in panchayat wards remains incomplete. No formal orders, however, were issued to this effect till Monday evening. The delay in the commission’s submission of recommendations has been attributed to inconsistent data, which has reportedly prevented it from finalising reservation norms for panchayat wards. Officials said that although district collectors had been asked to provide accurate and comprehensive data, the same has not been forthcoming.
