NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR on Monday, predicting a significant change in weather patterns, with thunderstorms and rain expected later in the day.The minimum temperature remained within a narrow range at different locations. Safdarjung, the city’s base station, recorded 20.4°C, while Palam registered 21°C. Lodhi Road logged 19.4°C, the Ridge station recorded 19.5°C, and Ayanagar reported 20°C, the weather department said. Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality was recorded in the ‘moderate’ category in the morning, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 166, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’. The maximum temperature is likely to hover between 29°C and 31°C, the Met department said.
