Amritsar: An Amritsar court on Sunday extended the police remand of former Punjab minister Laljit Bhullar by three more days for further investigation in connection with the suicide of Punjab Warehousing Corporation district manager Gagandeep Singh Randhawa.Bhullar was produced before the court after the expiry of his five-day police remand. Police placed before the court the evidence gathered so far and details of his interrogation, and sought further custody.Bhullar was arrested by Amritsar police from Mandi Gobindgarh on March 23 after his name surfaced in Randhawa’s suicide case. The names of Bhullar’s father Sukhdev Singh and his personal assistant Dilbagh Singh had also cropped up in connection with the case.Randhawa had allegedly died by suicide on March 21 and, before his death, had levelled serious allegations against Bhullar. His family had earlier refused to cremate the body until Bhullar was arrested.
