Vadodara: Makarpura police have registered a case of cheating against two men for allegedly duping 110 people by promising them jobs in the railways. The accused allegedly swindled a total of Rs 59 lakh.According to the complaint filed by Sunil Kamdi, he came in contact with Akash Chauhan (26) last year. Chauhan promised Kamdi a job in Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd and demanded money. Kamdi informed his relatives, who also paid Chauhan, believing they would secure employment.Kamdi said Chauhan even provided fake job offer letters and took the victims to a railway workshop in Dec last year, strengthening their belief in the scheme. When the jobs did not materialize and victims sought explanations, Chauhan allegedly claimed that the money had been handed over to another person, identified as Pawar Saheb.Kamdi, a gym trainer, stated that Chauhan collected money from 110 people but failed to provide any employment, prompting him to approach the police.
