Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he sensed a “different atmosphere” in Kerala, asserting that the state was sending a message of change, while addressing an NDA rally in Palakkad on Sunday.
He said the growing popularity of the NDA and rising trust in the BJP were reflected in the large turnout and enthusiasm at the rally, adding that “Kerala’s mood has become a movement.”
Modi also claimed that the youth, women and farmers in the state are increasingly backing the BJP-led alliance, signalling what he described as a shift in political sentiment.

Narendra Modi also targeted Kerala’s ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF), alleging that the state has for decades been “trapped between two faces of selfish politics.”
He said the change he referred to in Kerala is being driven by “the blessings of the people, the tireless efforts of BJP workers and their sacrifices,” while addressing the rally in Palakkad. He said the BJP would transform Kerala into a developed state, asserting that it would move forward on the strength of “Modi’s guarantees,” while addressing the rally in Palakkad.
He also took a swipe at both the Left Democratic Front and the United Democratic Front, saying that while they accuse each other of being “B-teams,” both have effectively acknowledged that the BJP is the only real contender in the state’s elections.
Modi also praised Kerala’s natural beauty, saying soon after arriving in Palakkad that one can understand why the state is called “Sundartam,” during his address at the rally.
He alleged that the Left government in Kerala “misused” funds across sectors, claiming that money meant for the people was diverted and looted.
He also said both the Left Democratic Front and the United Democratic Front have effectively admitted that the BJP is the “A-team” in the state’s Assembly elections, while addressing the rally in Palakkad.
