Varanasi: Dubbed it PM Narendra Modi’s “stand in line” scheme, Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Syed Naseer Hussain criticized the Centre, stating that “in New India, people are forced to stand in queues for essentials like fuel, gas cylinders, fertilizers and ration.The central govt repeatedly makes statements that create an atmosphere of panic in the country. By giving statements about making preparations like Covid without thinking, the govt has once again scared the public.Talking to reporters, he said there has been an unprecedented rise in the prices of essential commodities in the last two weeks, making life difficult for the common man. “The Indian rupee has hit an all-time low, largely due to the escalating tensions between Iran, Israel, and the US. This has made imported goods, especially oil, more expensive, directly impacting the general public. The govt has failed on the economic front,” he said.Hussain said that despite being the Prime Minister’s parliamentary constituency, the people of Kashi are struggling for basic amenities. Development in Kashi is visible only in advertisements; the ground reality is different.
