Hyderabad: Protesting against the non-allocation of adequate funds to the police and BC welfare, as well as the lack of clarity on the merger of TGSRTC employees into govt, BRS staged a walkout from the assembly on Saturday.Party deputy floor leader T Harish Rao said that the Congress govt has not been releasing TAs, DAs, or surrender leaves dues to the police personnel. He also highlighted the absence of assurance on the police health security scheme, the lack of response regarding the filling of 17,000 vacancies in the police department, and the absence of clarity on the provision of new vehicles for the police.Harish also alleged that there is no clarity on the allocation of BC sub-plan funds. Stating that the previous BRS regime showed great respect for the police, Harish said that former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led govt filled 40,000 to 50,000 vacancies, established new commissionerates, and implemented a health security scheme. He added that seven TA bills, three surrender leaves, and five DAs are pending, while the police health security scheme is limited to just Rs 1 lakh. Harish also questioned the delay in considering TGSRTC employees as govt employees by completing the merger, as promised by the Congress during the assembly elections.
