T’puram: A seven-year-old boy was killed after a KSRTC bus collided with a scooter he was travelling on with his mother at 12pm at Gramam Junction in Neyyattinkara on Saturday.The deceased is Nithin of Neyyattinkara. He was travelling with his mother, Veenitha, towards Amaravila when the accident occurred. The impact of the collision threw them off the scooter, leaving the child critically injured.Preliminary findings suggest that the accident occurred when the bus collided with the scooter, though the exact cause is yet to be ascertained. Locals rushed Nithin to Neyyattinkara taluk hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead. Veenitha, who sustained injuries, was given first aid at the hospital and later shifted to a private hospital. Her condition is reported to be stable. Police registered a case and began a probe. TNN
