Udupi: In a swift operation, Byndoor police arrested a youth accused of attempting to burgle a house, who has also been found involved in a separate wheeling case registered by Kundapur traffic police. The accused is Fauzan Ahmed.According to police, an attempted burglary was reported on March 18 at the house of Fatima Apapi,38, in Shiroor village.According to the complaint, while the family was asleep, an unidentified person aged about 25 years, broke open the rear door of the house with the intention of committing theft. He entered the house and opened a cupboard, searching for valuables. However, when Fatima woke up and raised an alarm, the accused fled through the back door. Based on her complaint, a case was registered at Byndoor police station.Under the guidance of Kundapur subdivision DSP HD Kulkarni and circle inspector Shivakumar, a special team led by PSI Sunil Kumar BY, along with PSI Naveen P Borkar and staff members was formed, and the accused was arrested on March 20. The accused has also been linked to a separate case registered at Kundapur traffic police station for performing dangerous wheeling on a scooter. In that case, based on information received from the district wireless control room, PSI-2 Sudha Prabhu registered a complaint on Thursday. Video footage revealed that on March 20, between 6 am and 8 am, the accused was riding a blue scooter on NH-66, on the Byndoor-Udupi one-way stretch between Hemmady and Kundapur. He was seen riding without a helmet, performing wheeling stunts in a rash and dangerous manner, endangering human life and property.A case has been registered at Kundapur traffic police station under Sections 281 and 125 of the BNS, and Sections 184 and 129 read with 194D of the IMV Act. The accused has been produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
