Nagpur: The state govt has denied allegations that tourist facilities at Chandrapur Green Valley in Tumsar taluka of Bhandara district have deteriorated after the site was transferred to the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). MLC Parinay Fuke had sought to know whether infrastructure at the site had worsened following the MTDC takeover and whether inadequate facilities had led to a decline in tourist footfall, adversely impacting local tourism. Responding to the query, Minister Shambhuraj Desai rejected the claims in the Maharashtra legislative councilDesai said MTDC had received 0.53 hectares of land for the Chandrapur Green Valley project. He added that basic infrastructure has been developed and remains accessible to visitors. The site has also been identified as suitable for jungle safaris, water sports training, and nature tourism.The minister further denied allegations that development work had stalled due to poor coordination, lack of a clear development plan or funding constraints, and refuted claims that government funds had been wasted.
