CHENNAI: AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran on Saturday announced candidates for 11 constituencies allocated to the party in the AIADMK-led NDA for the April 23 polls. Most nominees are former MLAs and senior party functionaries.C Shanmugavelu (Madathukulam), K Kathir Kaman (Periyakulam), S Kamaraj (Mannargudi), V Karthikeyan (Thiruvaiyaru), Dherpoki V Pandi (Karaikudi), A Gnanasekar (Tirupathur), Esakki Muthu (Nanguneri), R Sundararaj (Ottapidaram-R), Rajasekharan (Trichy West), G Senthamizhan (Saidapet) and T A Elumalai (Poonthamallee-R) have been named as party candidates.However, several long-time supporters and former MLAs, including N Parthiban of Sholinghur, expressed dissatisfaction over not being accommodated in the AIADMK alliance. Airing his discontent, Parthiban on Friday announced that he was quitting AMMK along with his supporters after holding a meeting with them.Similarly, David Annadurai, who contested from Thiruparankundram in the 2021 assembly election, also missed out on a chance this time. Dhinkaran had promised them seats and encouraged them to carry out election works a couple of months ago.
