Kanpur: A late-night burglary took place at the showroom of former BJP MLA Raghunandan Singh Bhadauria at Hanumant Vihar on Hamirpur Road where thieves broke in and made off with cash, police said.The incident occurred in the Hanumant Vihar police station area. The entire theft was captured on CCTV, which showed a thief entering the showroom at night and rummaging through the cash counter.In the footage, the thief was seen reaching the counter and searching through the cash drawer on the table. He gathered the cash kept in the drawer and fled the spot.The theft came to light in the morning when the showroom was opened and belongings were found scattered.After receiving information, Hanumant Vihar police reached the spot and inspected the crime scene.Police seized footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the showroom and said efforts were being made to identify the thief based on the footage. Other cameras in the area were also being examined.DCP (South) Deependra Nath Chaudhary said the thief would be arrested soon. tnn
