Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi founder Kalvakuntla Kavitha will launch her political party on April 25 in Hyderabad. The former MP has already submitted an application to the Election Commission of India (ECI) for registering her political party, a couple of months ago.Disclosing the details in Nizamabad on Friday, Kavitha said: “As a Telangana adabidda (daughter of Telangana), I firmly believe that there is a need for a new and inclusive political force led by a woman to achieve ‘Sarvodaya Telangana’. With the blessings of the people of the state, I will be launching my party on April 25. This will mark the beginning of a new era in Telangana politics.”She said her party is not a B-team to any other political party and would emerge as the number one party in Telangana in the future, exuding confidence that people would bless her party. The former MP added that she can lobby in Delhi for the party and will strive hard to win the confidence of the people.“Representation of youth in politics has been a long-standing problem in India. I appeal to the youngsters of Telangana, please do not steer away from politics. Get involved and change politics instead. You have to be in a political party or within the system to do that. I invite all youngsters to join our party. Together, we will change the future of Telangana. We cannot depend on others to do this; we will have to do it ourselves,” Kavitha said. The former MP said every section of society was suffering and successive govts have failed to cater to the needs and aspirations of the people of Telangana. “Women continue to suffer due to the lack of representation and targeted solutions to their problems. All these sections are being treated as mere vote banks. We have seen enough parties with men at the helm of affairs,” she said.Elaborating on the service rendered by Telangana Jagruthi over the course of the last two decades, she said that it is one organisation that has fought for every section of society. Kavitha added that even for sections that were never included by any other entity, including numerically smaller communities, they have had and will continue to have dedicated wings aimed at addressing their specific concerns.Jagruthi went to the extent of providing 2,500 as a pension to families of nearly 300 farmers who died by suicide between 2014 and 2018. During COVID, it helped tens of thousands of families. Irrespective of how small or big the issue, Jagruthi has always fought for the people, even during the BRS regime, Kavitha said.
