T’puram: As part of state assembly general elections, district collector Anu Kumari, who is the district election officer, visited reception and distribution centres for voting machines, strong rooms and training centres for polling officials.The collector visited Mar Ivanios College, Mar Baselios Engineering College and Pattom KV to assess the preparations. She also visited training centres at Planetarium and DPI Cooperative Building for presiding officers and first polling officers.In Phase I, 20 training halls have been set up across 10 centres in the district. The initial phase of training for presiding officers and first polling officers, scheduled until Saturday, involves 9,520 polling officials. TNN
