Ahmedabad: A school that remained open on Ram Navami despite a govt-declared public holiday is now under the scanner of the district education authorities. Ankur School in Paldi held regular classes on Thursday, leading to confusion among parents.According to official information, the state govt had first declared March 27 a public holiday for Ram Navami but later revised it to March 26. The education board subsequently issued a circular informing schools about the change. Most schools in Ahmedabad remained closed on Thursday to mark the festival. However, Ankur School continued academic activities as usual. Sources said the school authorities were unaware of the revised holiday circular, which led to the confusion. The Ahmedabad city district education officer is now preparing to issue a notice to the school, seeking an explanation for the lapse. Officials said schools are expected to stay updated on govt circulars to prevent inconvenience to students and parents. The incident has also led to dissatisfaction among parents. Similar cases have been reported earlier too.
