Nagpur: The state govt denied that tourist facilities at Chandrapur Green Valley in Tumsar taluka, Bhandara district, were inadequate after the site was transferred to Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, the Maharashtra Legislative Council was informed on Wednesday.MLC Dr Parinay Fuke asked whether facilities at the site had deteriorated after the MTDC takeover, and whether poor infrastructure was causing declining tourist footfall and hurting local tourism. Cabinet Shambhuraj Desai denied the claims, saying 0.53 area of land was received by MTDC for the Chandrapur Green Valley site. Basic infrastructure, including a tourist reception centre, boundary wall, internal paths, gardens and other amenities, has been developed and is accessible to visitors. The site has been identified as suitable for jungle safaris, water sports training and nature tourism. The reply denied that development stalled due to coordination failures, the absence of a clear development plan or funding difficulties, and denied that govt funds had been wasted.
