Nagpur: Veteran lawyer Ankush Pantawane (64) died after suffering a heart attack at the Family Court in Civil Lines on Wednesday. He collapsed on the court verandah and was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A well-known figure in the city’s legal fraternity, Pantawane primarily practised in Family Court matters. He was the father of advocate Nilesh Pantawane, Joint Secretary of the Family Court Bar Association. According to sources, Pantawane had returned to Nagpur late Tuesday night after attending a funeral in Chandrapur. Despite the late arrival, he followed his routine and reached the court the next day to attend cases. He is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, and extended family. His funeral will be held at Mokshadham Ghat at 10:30 am on Thursday.
