T’puram: Thampanoor police on Wednesday arrested two main accused in connection with the brutal assault on a youth near Valiyasala junction earlier this week.The victim, identified as Hariharan, was riding a bike with his friend on Monday when the accused allegedly intercepted them, verbally abused him and attacked with a metal rod. Police said the assault was carried out with an intention to kill, stemming from prior enmity. Hariharan is currently undergoing treatment at MCH in Thiruvananthapuram.The arrested have been identified as Sai Bala (21) of Valiyasala, and Mithun alias Unni (23) of Thycaud. Both are reportedly involved in another assault case registered at the Thampanoor police station.According to police, the accused stopped the bike and launched a sudden attack on Hariharan, inflicting serious injuries.Police have launched a search for two more accused believed to be involved in the case.
