Kanpur: Three men hailing from Hardoi died after the bike they were riding was hit by a vehicle on service road of the under-construction Ganga Expressway in Behatamujavar police station area on Tuesday night. Police found a broken bumper of an SUV at the accident site suggesting its involvement in the collision. The bike riders were not wearing helmets.The deceased were identified as Raju Rathore (55) resident of Atiya village under Kasimpur police station, Rambalak Yadav (50) of Siddiqpur village, and Pawan Yadav (48) Garhi in Hardoi district. Raju’s uncle Ramjeevan had died of illness on Tuesday afternoon. Raju, along with Rambalak Yadav and Pawan went to attend his last rites at Nanamau ghat under Bangarmau Kotwali.They were returning when when a vehicle hit the bike near Ranipur village and sped away. Around 10:30pm some villagers spotted them and informed the police. Behatamujavar police took all three to Bangarmau CHC, where the doctor declared them dead. Akhilesh, son of Rambalak, said all three were farmers. Bangarmau Kotwali in-charge Akhilesh Pandey said that the family of all three victims have arrived and the bodies were sent for postmortem.tnn
