Udupi: A man lost his life in a road accident after a two-wheeler skidded and collided with a tipper truck near Mala Ghat in Karkala. The deceased is Naveen Jayakumar.In a complaint, Rajath S, from Mudaru village, stated the accident took place on Tuesday morning when he was travelling as a pillion rider on a two-wheeler, ridden by Naveen Jayakumar. They were proceeding from Bajagoli towards Mala Ghat. While riding along Mala Ghat, the rider was allegedly driving at high speed and in a negligent manner. At the same time, a tipper driven by Kalandar was coming from the SK Border side towards Karkala, also reportedly at high speed and in a rash manner. On noticing the approaching tipper, the rider suddenly applied the brakes, causing the scooter to skid and both vehicles to collide. As a result of the accident, the rider, Naveen Jayakumar, fell onto the road along with the vehicle, and the front right tyre of the tipper ran over his waist, leading to his death on the spot. The complainant, who was the pillion rider, sustained internal injuries to his right leg and abrasions on his left knee. A case has been registered at Karkala Rural police station under Sections 281, 125(a), and 106 of the BNS. Man dies after motorcycle crashes into tree in Sullia Mangaluru: A man died after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a roadside tree in Sullia. The deceased is Sridhar, 38. According to the complaint filed by Radhakrishna PM, 49, a resident of Kasaragod, Kerala, the incident occurred on the night of Monday. While the complainant was in Sullia, he received a call from an acquaintance informing him that his brother’s motorcycle had met with an accident near Kolchar bus stop in Aleti village, and that his brother had sustained serious injuries. The complainant rushed to the spot and shifted his injured brother, Sridhar, to the govt hospital in Sullia for treatment. However, doctors examined him and declared him dead. As per the complaint, the accident occurred due to the deceased riding the motorcycle in an alleged rash and negligent manner. A case has been registered at Sullia police station under Sections 281 and 106 of the BNS.
