GURGAON: An 18-year-old youth died after being run over by his elder brother’s truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near the district border in Nuh on Monday.Mursaleem, a resident of Raniyala village in Firozpur Jhirka, had gone to hand over a set of keys to his elder brother Sajid, a driver who was en route to Madhya Pradesh after Eid. Sajid allegedly forgot some keys at home and had asked Mursaleem to bring them.Eyewitnesses said that Mursaleem reached near the divider close to Baghola and waited along the roadside railings for the truck to arrive. However, as the truck approached him, it began performing stunts and suddenly went out of control and veered towards the divider, crushing Mursaleem to death on the spot.Locals present at the scene said that Sajid was initially unaware that Mursaleem had come under the vehicle and realised it only after people raised an alarm.A police team reached the spot soon after receiving information, and sent the body for autopsy. An FIR was registered under sections 106 (death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) against Sajid at the Ferozepur Jhirka Sadar police station.Cops added that the exact sequence of events is yet to be determined. “We are examining CCTV footage from nearby locations to ascertain the cause of the accident and verify the claims made by eyewitnesses,” an officer said.
