Gurgaon: A 50-year-old man died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in a hit-and-run incident near a warehouse on Khera Khurampur Road in Farukhnagar on Monday afternoon, police said.The deceased, identified as Shribhagwan, a resident of Tirpadi village in Farukhnagar, suffered severe injuries in the accident around 1.30pm near Prozo Warehouse.He was first taken to the govt hospital in Farukhnagar and later referred to the govt hospital in Sector 10. As his condition deteriorated, family members shifted him to a private facility in Sector 90, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.Vijay, the victim’s elder brother, said the family was alerted by a passer-by. “My brother was walking along the road when an unknown vehicle hit him, causing serious injuries, including a head injury. An onlooker informed one of our brothers, who then contacted me. Shribhagwan was unmarried and lived with me,” he said.According to the complaint, the victim worked at a warehouse in Khera Khurampur and was struck by a speeding vehicle whose driver fled the scene.Police said they were informed by the hospital about an injured man who was later shifted by relatives. During inquiry, the victim was identified and traced to the private hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.The body was sent for postmortem and handed over to the family on Tuesday.Based on the complaint, Farukhnagar police registered an FIR against an unidentified driver under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS.
