Pune: A 39-year-old man died, and his wife and son (6) suffered severe injuries after their scooter was hit by a truck on a bridge on Pune-Nashik Highway at Waki village near Chakan.The accident happened around 9pm on Sunday, when the victim, Hemant Sable, was driving towards Pune from Chakan. His son and wife are undergoing treatment in a nearby private hospital.Police sub-inspector D A Burud of Chakan North police said the Pingle family was driving towards Pune on their scooter on Sunday night. When they came on the bridge at Waki village, a truck, coming from the opposite side, hit their scooter. “Pingle died at the spot, while his wife and son sustained severe injuries,” Burud said.The officer said the police and the locals took the injured to a nearby hospital. “We registered a case of causing death by negligence against the truck driver,” the officer said.
