Chandigarh: A 21-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide at Charan Colony in Maulijagran. The deceased was identified as Nisha. No suicide note was recovered from the spot, police said. On Monday night, police received information that a woman had hanged herself in Charan Singh Colony. A PCR and team from the Maulijagran police station reached the spot. They took the woman to GMCH-32, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The victim’s grandfather said he was sitting outside the house at the time of the incident. The deceased quit her job two months ago. During the day, she was perfectly fine. After finishing work at night, she went to her room but did not come back. They checked to find her hanging from the fan. Maulijagran police ruled out any foul play and said the cause of death would be ascertained after an autopsy report.
