Margao: AICC Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakre on Monday clarified that Congress backs opposition leader Yuri Alemao’s stand on the behaviour of GFP over the abrupt termination of the budget session, walking back his earlier remarks that were seen as a rebuke of the LOP.Thakre, who on Sunday advised Alemao to exercise restraint in his choice of words after the LOP called GFP chief Vijai Sardesai “Judas”, sought to draw a clear distinction between Alemao’s language and his position. “Alemao’s response regarding MLA Vijai Sardesai was appropriate. However, the language he used should have been avoided — that was my only point,” Thakre said
