Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said south Indian states have to unite against the “3-D policy” of the Narendra Modi govt — delimitation, devolution and discrimination — and launch a concerted fight to stay relevant in national politics.“It’s a do or die situation. This 3-D policy is being intentionally implemented by the Prime Minister to do injustice to south India. The formula of 50% increase in Lok Sabha seats is a conspiracy and a final bullet the Modi govt wants to use against south India. The PM wants to widen the gap between the number of Lok Sabha seats between north and south Indian states,” Revanth alleged.“This way, they will not need the support of any south Indian state to form the govt at the Centre, as the MP (LS) seats from just five north India states will be enough to form the govt if the 50% increase formula is adopted,” Revanth said at ‘What India Thinks Today’ (WITT) Summit 2026 organised by a television channel in New Delhi. Modi delivered the keynote address at the summit.Revanth said though he had earlier announced bringing together the chief ministers of south Indian states after MK Stalin held the first such meeting, it was not taken forward. Now, he would take up the issue again as south India needs to get united, fight for justice or die fighting for it, he said.Finding fault with the proposed all-party meeting, Revanth said it should have been convened before taking a decision on delimitation. However, Revanth suggested that one of the best solutions was to increase the number of Lok Sabha seats in delimitation by maintaining the same ratio or difference in Lok Sabha seats that exists presently between north and south India.Revanth said except Union finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman, there was no representation for south India in the top 10 positions in the country, be it the PM, President, Lok Sabha speaker during the 12 years of Modi govt. Earlier, the Congress govts used to give the President post to south India if the PM was from the north. The Congress govt did a balancing act and gave the impression that India is one and united.Modi and BJP were not believing their own party leaders and doing injustice to the south. “Venkaiah Naidu was not allowed to become President. BJP has MPs from Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala but they don’t trust their own leaders in giving any of the top 10 positions to them,” he alleged. The CM said the Modi govt failed in its foreign policy, due to which LPG gas, petrol, diesel and other shortages were staring at the country. To a query whether he would like BRS or BJP as the main rival in the next assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Revanth shot back, stating: “I want them to come together so that I can defeat them together. It’s a Fevicol bond between BRS and BJP, and Congress cadres are preparing to defeat the BRS-BJP combine in the next elections. KCR is only a political rival and there is no personal animosity with him, Revanth said.
