Bengaluru: The high court Tuesday ordered notice to the govt, police and Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) in response to a public interest litigation (PIL) over the functioning of a school in a residential area of Rajajinagar.A division bench of Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice CM Poonacha, posted the petition filed by Rajajinagar 5th Block Residents’ Welfare Association to July 2 for further consideration. The petitioners urged the court to issue directions to consider the requests/representations submitted by them vis-a-vis the problems they faced owing to the conduct of National Public School. The PIL claimed the school uses a public address system throughout the day, which disturbs locals, especially those who work from home, and added that use of loudspeakers creates nuisance in the locality. The petition also accused the school of not giving priority in admissions to children residing in the locality, which is a requirement. Finally, the petitioner RWA claimed the school parks its buses outside the campus, leading to congestion. The petition accused the school authorities of repeatedly organising functions and parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) without intimating the neighbourhood.
