Ranchi: A man was arrested with 22 bottles of illegal liquor at Namkum railway station on Monday, police said on Tuesday. This is the second seizure by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) within a week involving liquor being transported to Bihar, where prohibition is in force.RPF officers said an intensive checking drive was conducted at Namkum station on Monday. During the operation, personnel noticed a man carrying a bag under suspicious circumstances.On questioning, the individual identified himself as Aman Kumar, 20, a resident of Samastipur district in Bihar. He was waiting to board the Sambalpur-Gorakhpur Express. The RPF later handed him over to the excise department for further action.On March 17, RPF had arrested three persons from Nalanda district in Bihar and seized 65 bottles of illegal liquor during an operation at Namkum station. The accused had allegedly purchased the liquor from Kantatoli in Ranchi and were on their way to Bihar to sell it for profit.
