Kolkata: A case has been registered at Thakurpukur PS after a woman — wife of a BJP ward 144 functionary — alleged assault, trespass and molestation at a shop in Joka on Monday by “Trinamool” goons.The case was recorded at Thakurpukur PS under sections 329(4), 126(2), 115(2), 74, 324(4) and 54 of BNS. Police said the complaint alleged that around 12.10 pm, several persons entered the shop run by her husband and assaulted a staff member, Sanjay Shil, with fists and blows. When she intervened, one of the accused allegedly assaulted her and pulled at her clothes, leading to allegations of outraging her modesty. She also alleged that items inside the shop were damaged. The accused allegedly claimed she cannot support BJP and avail Lakshmir Bhandar at the same time.Trinamool denied the claims, stating the party had nothing to do with it. “Let them give evidence to back their allegation,” alleged a Trinamool ward 144 functionary.
