Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) has set a record in academic digitisation by uploading more than 8.15 lakh student records on the National Academic Depository (NAD) platform, becoming the only university in Bihar to achieve such a milestone.PPU registrar Abu Bakar said a total of 8,15,264 academic records, including marksheets and certificates, have been uploaded on NAD. Of these, 5,87,892 records have also been integrated with the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC)—a flagship initiative aimed at digitally storing students’ academic credits and enabling flexibility in higher education.
The registrar said the data uploaded primarily covers students’ academic records and related details, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and long-term digital preservation. With this initiative, PPU students can now access their academic documents through DigiLocker, eliminating the need for physical copies and reducing the risk of data loss or discrepancies. He added that the move is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises digitisation, transparency and academic mobility in the higher education system. The development is expected to simplify verification processes and enable seamless sharing of credentials for higher studies and employment.Describing it as a major step towards modernising the university’s academic infrastructure, the registrar said the achievement aligns PPU with national digital education standards.Meanwhile, the university has announced that degree vocational course examinations will commence from March 24, while examinations for Degree Part-II, vocational Part-II and Part-III will be held from April 1, sources said.
