Srinagar, Mar 23: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Monday said the supply of domestic LPG, petrol and diesel across the Valley is stable, with sufficient stock available for around two weeks, even as authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any inconvenience to the public.
Talking to reporters in Srinagar, Garg said that both the Government of India and the J&K administration have ensured uniform supply of LPG, and the current stock position remains comfortable. He said the availability is dynamic but generally ranges between 10 to 15 days, adding that in the last two days, the stock level stood at around 14 days.
“The oil marketing companies are being monitored by district-level committees to ensure an uninterrupted supply of domestic LPG,” he said, adding that the supply of petrol, diesel, HSD and MS is also being closely tracked at both divisional and district levels.
The Div Com said that district and divisional control rooms are actively following up on complaints related to hoarding, black marketing or overpricing. He urged people to rely only on official information and avoid panic, rumours or fake news, saying the government is regularly updating the public on the situation.
On complaints regarding LPG delivery issues despite OTP generation, Garg said such cases are being handled individually.
Deputy Commissioners and teams of the Food and Civil Supplies Department are actively working on the issue, Garg said, adding that the department prepares daily reports in a central format, which are being monitored by the government to ensure that people do not face any inconvenience.
Responding to a query about students from Jammu and Kashmir stranded in Iran, the Div Com said that both the Government of India and the J&K administration are making all efforts to bring them back safely. “Helplines have been issued by both governments, and the Chief Minister has also assured support after meeting concerned parents,” he said.
Garg said that authorities are in constant touch with families through control rooms and are sharing all available information with them. “Coordination has improved significantly and appealed to parents and students to cooperate with the official teams,” he said, expressing hope that the situation will be resolved soon.
