Hazaribag: A divisional-level orientation workshop for elected mukhiya representatives of seven districts under North Chotanagpur division was held at Vinoba Bhave University on Monday. State rural development minister Deepika Pandey Singh, who attended the meet, said, “Mukhiyas are strong pillars of democracy, and their active participation is key to holistic development of gram panchayats.Singh further said 34% of the state’s budget has been earmarked for women and children, and efforts are on to start Aadhaar-related and other public services at panchayat centres.A sum of Rs 318 crore has been allocated to gram panchayats in this division and the remaining amount to be released by Mar 31.”Several mukhiyas were felicitated at the programme.
