NEW DELHI: The Delhi government on Monday held ‘kheer’ ceremony at the Assembly ahead of the Budget Session, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the upcoming Budget will focus on accelerating development, strengthening infrastructure and improving the quality of life of residents.The ceremony was attended by farmers, doctors and teachers, along with Cabinet ministers and MLAs.Addressing the gathering, Gupta said the budget will aim to provide better civic amenities, enhanced infrastructure and a positive environment where people can live comfortably.She added that the government is working towards fulfilling long-pending aspirations of residents and giving a new direction to Delhi’s growth.The chief minister said the budget will include improved facilities for students, better healthcare infrastructure and steps towards ensuring cleaner air and a greener city. She described it as a roadmap to make Delhi more liveable and sustainable.Gupta said her government had worked over the past year to change the direction of development in the national capital and the budget will further strengthen those efforts.She also lauded officials of the finance department for their efforts in preparing the budget, saying they worked tirelessly to shape it.
