Patna: The district administration has made elaborate preparations for Ram Navami festival that would be celebrated on March 27. The administration would give priority to crowd management and law and order maintenance.A meeting of the coordination committee, chaired by district magistrate (DM) Thiyagarajan S M and SSP Kartikeya K Sharma, was held on Mahavir temple premises here on Sunday. Representatives of Shri Mahavir Sthan Nyas Samiti also participated in the meeting.The plan of administration includes strategic deployment of magistrates and police personnel from March 26 to manage the influx of devotees and ensure smooth traffic flow across the city.After the meeting, officials inspected Patna Junction, GPO roundabout, Veer Kunwar Singh Park and R-Block to evaluate the placement of physical barriers and security checkpoints.Officials said a comprehensive traffic plan will be issued by the SP (traffic) to mitigate congestion caused by ongoing metro construction work near the temple site. Specific operational directives include installation of barricades for separate queues for male and female devotees.The Patna Municipal Corporation will provide 24-hour cleaning service, water tankers, water ATMs and mobile toilets, while the energy department will place a dedicated team to ensure functional street lights.Medical support will be provided at identified points with ambulances and physicians on standby, and “may I help you” desks will be set up to assist people.To monitor activities and manage the crowd, the administration will utilise a network of CCTV cameras for videography, with real-time tracking from a temporary control room.On the Ram Navami day the temple will facilitate darshan by installing LED screens and operating multiple ‘prasad’ counters, besides vendors will also be banned at the entry and exit gates.
