JAISALMER: Showcasing operational excellence and high combat preparedness, a Fighting Formation of the Indian army of Kharga Corps carried out a series of intensive military drills under Exercise JAL VIJAY, successfully demonstrating its capability to operate across diverse and challenging water & desert terrains. In a significant display of tactical proficiency, troops executed a complex water obstacle crossing over the iconic Indira Gandhi Canal. The manoeuvre involved rapid deployment, coordinated movement, and precision execution, highlighting the formation’s ability to breach water barriers and maintain operational momentum. The exercise validated the unit’s amphibious capabilities, reaffirming its readiness to undertake swift and decisive operations even in difficult conditions. Defence sources stated that the operation was conducted under simulated combat scenarios, where troops practised crossing wide water channels while maintaining formation integrity and operational speed. The successful execution of this drill underscored the Indian Army’s focus on agility and adaptability in modern warfare. “No obstacle too wide, no terrain too tough,” aptly captured the spirit of the exercise, as soldiers demonstrated exceptional determination and coordination during the high-intensity training. In addition to amphibious operations, the formation also carried out Firepower Manoeuvres at designated field firing ranges in the desert sector. These drills were aimed at validating precision strike capabilities and enhancing coordination between various combat arms.
