Hisar: In a shocking case of deceit, police have uncovered a staged firing incident orchestrated by a liquor contractor to obtain police protection. Three accused, including the contractor, have been arrested.The arrested individuals have been identified as Ajay alias Mantri, Ashok Kumar alias Akhan, and Uttam Kumar, all residents of Chobara village in Fatehabad district. According to CIA Ratia in-charge sub-inspector Pradeep, Ajay alias Mantri, who runs a liquor shop, filed a complaint on March 18 alleging that an unidentified youth on a motorcycle opened fire at his salesman with the intention to kill. Based on the complaint, police registered a case of attempt to murder and initiated an investigation.However, during the probe, forensic experts found inconsistencies at the spot, raising suspicion about the authenticity of the incident. Further interrogation and technical analysis exposed the truth. Police revealed that Ajay alias Mantri conspired with his associates Ashok and Uttam to stage the fake attack. The motive behind the act was to project himself as a high-risk target and thereby secure police protection. All three accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
