Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released its first list of candidates for the Puducherry Legislative Assembly Election 2026, naming nominees for nine constituencies in the Union Territory.
The list was finalised by the party’s Central Election Committee, which met earlier this week under the chairmanship of Nitin Nabin and was attended by senior leaders including Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.
Polling in Puducherry is scheduled for April 9, with results of votes expected on May 4.

- Mahe — A. Dineshan
The Union Territory will go to polls for all 30 seats, with a party or alliance needing at least 16 seats to secure a majority and form the government.
