Jhansi: Around 490 research papers will be presented during the three days of the National Hindi Science Summit, which began at Bundelkhand University (BU) here on Friday. Over 250 delegates from different parts of the country and abroad will be participating in this national seminar being held to promote technical aspects in regional language. It is being jointly organised by BU and Vigyan Bharti, an arm of RSS, in association with the Uttar Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Lucknow.The chief guest of the inaugural session, director, Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), Prof Avinash Chandra Pandey, who was also the former vice-chancellor of BU, said that studying various disciplines of science in mother tongues can lead to the country’s multidimensional growth. He said that adopting native languages in scientific learning would also help safeguard the country’s data.“Science is essentially the revelation and realisation of truth. When such realisation occurs in one’s own language, it opens up immense possibilities for development. Several initiatives are currently underway in India to promote scientific work in native languages”, he said.Presiding over the session, vice-chancellor Prof Mukesh Pandey, while mentioning that NEP promotes regional languages, said the conference would significantly contribute to shaping young minds. “If we want to penetrate science deep into the roots of our society, especially in the rural sector, then regional language will play a major role. Our ancient knowledge system is well established in all sectors, including science and medicines.National organising secretary, Vigyan Bharati, Shiv Kumar, said that science is often associated with the English language but emphasised the importance of Indian languages in explaining scientific concepts effectively.The conference will feature 23 technical sessions covering various scientific disciplines, along with discussions on spirituality and yoga. On this occasion, seven persons were awarded for their contribution towards promoting science among the masses. A souvenir consisting of all the research papers was also released.
