Varanasi: UP Police’s emergency response team, UP-112, was attacked in Ballia’s Kotwa Narayanpur area when they responded to a brawl call.Reports said police personnel were attacked by youths involved in a fight while trying to intervene. A video showing the scuffle between the UP-112 team and the youths has gone viral.Ballia ASP (South) Kripa Shankar said that Raghavendra Rastogi, a resident of Sikandarpur, reported that two people were assaulting his father, Shyamsundar. On receiving the information, PRB 6228 personnel comprising constables Shailendra Kumar, Sunil Kumar and driver head constable Rambhajan Yadav reached the spot and tried to mediate.During this, the accused — Arun Rai and Amit Rai alias Ganguly, residents of Kotwa Narayanpur — entered into a scuffle with the PRB personnel. Police have registered a case and arrested the two accused.
