Vadodara: Over 2,500 medical and dental students, interns, and doctors from more than 25 states are expected to attend the 45th national conference of the National Medicos Organisation (NMO) at Medical College Baroda on March 21 and 22.Organized by NMO Gujarat and Saurashtra Prant, NMOCON 2026 will focus on the theme “Journey toward Oneness in Health – From One Health”, aiming to integrate healthcare approaches while strengthening medical education and research.Ahead of the conference, a pre-event “Swami Vivekananda Healthy Lifestyle” cycle yatra was held on Thursday and Friday. The yatra started from the Statue of Unity, passed through Rajpipla Medical College and Poicha, and concluded in Vadodara.The conference will formally open on Saturday evening, with Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel scheduled to attend as chief guest. A souvenir booklet and the NMO journal will also be released during the opening ceremony.The two-day event will feature a variety of academic and extracurricular activities, including scientific paper and poster presentations, medical and dental quizzes, youth parliament sessions, and competitions such as poster-making and reel-making. A special scientific session on organ donation and transplantation by noted kidney transplant specialist Dr Pranjal Modi will be a key highlight.The valedictory function will be held on March 22, with Gujarat minister of state for health Praful Pansheriya as chief guest. Winners of various competitions will be felicitated during the closing ceremony.
