Mumbai: The Kandivli police recently helped an army man get back Rs 7.2 lakh that he had lost to a cyber investment fraud.The army man is posted in Jammu and Kashmir. He was on leave and had arrived at his Mumbai residence in April last year when the cyber fraud occurred. The scammers lured him with a promising investment scheme and got him to pay in instalments. On realising that he had been duped, the armyman dialled the 1930 cybercrime helpline. Kandivli police’s cyber cell took up the matter and approached the nodal officials of the bank where the armyman’s money had been transferred. They managed to block the sum. After getting an order from the magistrate court in Borivli, the police got the money returned to the army man’s bank account recently.
