Kanpur: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur has signed an MoU with the HQ Chief Engineer, Central Command, to enhance the technical and managerial competencies of its officers.The collaboration reflects the Indian Army‘s focus on leveraging academic expertise for institutional development and aims to build future-ready, sustainable and resilient operational infrastructure aligned with evolving technological needs.As part of the initiative, a specialised course titled “Construction Management: Quality, Contracts and Arbitration” will begin later this month. Officials said the initiative assumes significance amid increasing complexity in construction projects and the need for higher standards of quality, transparency and accountability. Through the collaboration, officers will gain exposure to contemporary methodologies, best practices and academic inputs to improve planning and execution of infrastructure projects.
