Ahmedabad: A group of six persons allegedly vandalised a car and threatened a resident in a late-night incident, said Naranpura police on Thursday. This incident has sparked significant concern among local residents regarding the recent surge in neighbourhood hooliganism and nighttime security in the area.According to the complaint, the chaos erupted around 10.15pm on Monday when the complainant was alerted by loud, crashing noises outside his residence. Upon investigation, he discovered a group of men systematically damaging his parked vehicle with sticks and stones. The windscreen, rear glass, and all windows were shattered, and the vehicle’s body sustained extensive damage, with losses estimated at approximately Rs 80,000.The accused also allegedly targeted a neighbour’s property, damaging a CCTV camera and windowpanes to eliminate potential video evidence while hurling abuses and issuing threats to those who attempted to intervene. Police officials stated that a formal case has been registered, and technical surveillance is being used to identify and apprehend the suspects.
