Kolkata: A 19-year-old was allegedly abducted from Tiljala and assaulted by a group of young men before being rescued from a secluded area in Beleghata in the early hours of Thursday, police said.The victim, Areeb Ali, was initially admitted to hospital after the attack and has since been discharged with strict instructions for bed rest, his family said.According to police, the assault was allegedly carried out by some of the victim’s friends and was linked to a dispute over compensation following a minor accident involving the teenager. Investigators said the accused were demanding money from him for damage caused to their vehicle.
