Gurgaon: A 24-year-old man sustained injuries, including four broken teeth, after a teenager allegedly threw a brick at him from a terrace during an altercation in the presence of police in Feroze Colony on Saturday. In the same incident, a woman in her 30s sustained an injury to her right thumb after a sharp object was thrown at it, requiring six stitches.A police officer said the two suspects in the case are believed to be juveniles, though their exact ages are yet to be ascertained. “We have asked for their documents and are investigating the matter,” the officer said.The incident occurred when the victim, Laksh Angrish, was assisting police in identifying the residence of one of the minors following a road rage incident involving his friend’s brother, Naveen.Speaking to TOI, Angrish said he had gone to visit his friend Pankaj for dinner when a neighbour informed them that Naveen had been involved in an altercation with two teenagers around 10.30pm in the New Colony area. “Naveen was returning after buying ice creams when he saw two youths riding a bike rashly. He asked them to be careful, but they became angry and an argument broke out. They slapped Naveen,” Angrish said.“We initially did not find anyone outside. Naveen later told us what had happened, after which we informed the police,” he added.When a police team arrived, the complainant and others accompanied them to identify the house of the minors in the nearby area.During this time, one of the suspects allegedly climbed onto a terrace and threw a brick at the group. It struck Angrish in the face, injuring his nose and jaw. He lost four teeth in the attack, according to the FIR.As the situation escalated, Pankaj’s sister, Pooja, intervened but was struck on her right thumb by a sharp object. She received six stitches and was later discharged after treatment.Angrish was admitted to Tirth Ram Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. His medico-legal report noted a cut injury to the nasal and maxillary region with active bleeding, along with pain on the right side of his head.Police have registered a case under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 117(2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at New Colony police station. Efforts are underway to apprehend the accused.
