Krishnagiri: The organs of a 56-year-old Tamil daily reporter in Krishnagiri district, who was declared brain dead after a road accident, was donated to patients in different hospitals.N Anbarasu suffered injuries after his two-wheeler collided with another two-wheeler on the Kaveripattinam–Palacode road on March 15. He was initially treated in Krishnagiri Government Medical College Hospital and later taken to a private hospital in Bengaluru, where he was declared brain dead.His family decided to donate his organs and brought him back to Krishnagiri Government Medical College and Hospital, where he was admitted on March 16.His organs were allocated through the Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu (TRANSTAN). One kidney was allocated to a patient in Government Medical College Hospital in Coimbatore while the other kidney was given to a patient in Government Medical College Hospital, Salem. Both corneas were allocated to Government Medical College Hospital in Dharmapuri. After organ retrieval, he was given state honours by district collector S Dinesh Kumar.
