Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) celebrated its 8th foundation day with great enthusiasm and high spirits on the premises of JD Women’s College here on Wednesday.Addressing a gathering, vice-chancellor (VC) Upendra Prasad Singh highlighted the university’s academic journey over the past eight years since its bifurcation from Magadh University (MU) on March 18, 2018. He said that the university has made consistent efforts to streamline academic activities with a strong focus on quality education and research-oriented work.The VC also noted that the university is set to shift to its new campus at Bakhtiyarpur soon which is expected to provide a boost to research initiatives and academic development. During its eight-year journey, the university has established several key academic and administrative mechanisms, including a board of studies, a structured sports calendar, a grievance redressal cell and the implementation of higher education programmes in line with the National Education Policy 2020, he said.According to PPU registrar Abu Bakar, the celebration was marked by a variety of cultural programmes and release of a souvenir which received enthusiastic applause from faculty members and students alike. Earlier, college principal Meera Kumar welcomed the guests while Rekha Mishra conducted the programme.
