Jaipur: A 68-year-old retired govt teacher and his 45-year-old son were killed Tuesday after a Thar vehicle rammed into their scooty in the Govindgarh area of Jaipur district, police said.Police have identified the deceased as Satyanarayan Saini (68) and his son Vijendra Saini (45), residents of Ward No 1 in Chomu. Vijendra’s nine-year-old son sustained injuries in the accident.Station House Officer Vinod Sankhla said the incident occurred around 2 pm near Bhadala Cut when the victims were travelling from Chomu to Shrimadhopur in Sikar to attend a family function.According to police, the Thar vehicle was allegedly coming from the wrong direction when it collided with the scooty, causing severe injuries to all three. The impact flung the victims off the two-wheeler, leaving them lying critically injured on the road.Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was moving at a high speed at the time of the accident. Local residents rushed to the spot and alerted police and an ambulance. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Satyanarayan and Vijendra dead on arrival.The injured child was given first aid and later handed over to family members. Police said his condition is stable and he is out of danger.Police have seized the Thar vehicle involved in the accident. However, its occupants fled the scene immediately after the collision and are yet to be traced.The bodies have been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem. Police said teams have been formed to identify and arrest the accused, and further investigation is underway.
